Introduction: Create Chairs From Scrap

These have been made by many and are quite common on the DIYer's internet presence but this is my take on a favourite.

They can be high backed, low and cosy, bar stools, stylish garden furniture and many more.

You chose.

All you need is a Grinder and a drill and a pen and paper.

The paint and stickers are optional.

Hope you make one too!!!!!

Step 1: Step 1

Take an old oil drum from a scrap yard or find on a selling site as many people work around them and just throw them in the scrap yard.

Now think of the style of chair you want and mark it using a permanent marker and prepare to cut with a cutting disc on an angle grinder.

WEAR SAFETY GLASSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Step 2: Make You Chair YOURS

Now we just need to clean up the sharp burrs of the cut edges with a sheet metal de burring tool or a flap disc or sanding disc in the grinder.

WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES AND SAFETY GOGGLES!!!!!!!!

If you are after a high seater design you will need to chose your height and either using wood and brackets make your seat base or use the top of the oil drum and rivet or weld it in place.

Step 3: Make It YOURS 2

Its time for decorating and the finishing touches.

You can use brush on gloss or spray paint. EMULSION DOES NOT WORK WITH STOPPING RUST.

All chairs are better with a cushion so go ahead and get one from a second hand shop or make one yourself as we did.

You might decide to cover them metal edges for little ones to climb in and out off. there are many options out there you can pick and chose as you feel fit.

HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR NEW CHAIR BECAUSE YOUR FINISHED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Step 4: THANK YOU FOR READING

Here is the chairs we made for our niece and nephew I hope it gives you an idea of how to do your's.

Thank you again.
