Introduction: Creating a Dodgeball That Can Put Itself Away
I was inspired by Moen's Reflex technology to build a dodgeball that put's itself away. Check out this video to see it in action!
Step 1: Cut Your Dodgeball Open
The first step is to core out your dodgeball and place a Sphero inside of it.
It might take you a couple of tries to get the size of the opening and the center correct to fit it in.
I used just a sharp pocket knife to make the first cut and to core our the dodgeball rotated the knife inside the ball like I was mixing dough for cookies.
Step 2: Connect to Your Sphero App
Before you seal up your Sphero into dodgeball, connect it to the app so you'll be able to drive it.
I recommend Sphero's multidrive app, so you can drive more than one at a time. (android only though)
When connecting to your app, mark the outside of the ball with the 3 color name that the ball flashes.
Ex. Red Blue White would be RBW. That will be essential when you are trying to identify multiple balls.
Step 3: Seal Up Dodgeball
Seal up your dodgeball with a hot glue gun. Use liberally. It takes a lot to keep it closed.
After that, enjoy driving you're new

Very clever.
...clever advertising, if nothing else!
