Introduction: Creative Plastic Water Bottle Flower Hanger
Create this crafty and fun DIY flower hanger. Re-use plastic water bottles to create a hanging flower pot at home! This will only take about 5-10 minutes and it's super easy to make! With only a minimum of 6 materials, anyone can do this! This is also fun to do at parties with adults, teenagers, and children! This is also a great Mother's Day gift.
Step 1: What You Need
- 1 plastic water bottle
- scissors
- soil
- a small plant
- yarn or string
- optional: decorations to put in soil, and a lighter to soften the water bottle edges
Step 2: Cutting Your Water Bottle
Take your scissors and cut the top of the water bottle off. The top of your water bottle is to put your plant in, so make it as big (or small) as you want! Once you're done cutting the water bottle, cut two little holes (one on each side) of the water bottle. These holes are for your yarn so you can hang it by your window, or anywhere you want.
*Optional* Also, if you have a lighter, you can melt the edges of the water bottle after you cut it so the edges are smooth. You don't want the edges to poke your fingers. But sometimes, you don't need to use a lighter to soften the edges.
Step 3: Putting the Soil In
Get your soil/potting mix (I recommend Miracle-Gro), and put it in the cut off section of your water bottle. Don't fill up the bottle all the way because later on you need to add water to your plant, and you also need to put your plant in. Add little decorations, such as marbles, in the potting mix if you want.
Step 4: Inserting the Yarn and the Flower
This is the last step that you need to do. Take your yarn and double tie it on both sides to make a little hanger. Then, put your plant in.
Step 5: Voila! You're Done!
And there you have it! You completed your cute DIY plant water bottle hanger! Now hang it by your window, or around your room!
