Creepy Crawlies

Big and small kids will delight in these easy dark chocolate cookies that are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.

Step 1:

You'll need:

1 box dark chocolate cake mix

1/2 cup flour

2 lg. eggs

1/2 soft butter or margarine

2" pieces of long black licorice

raising or cranberries for the eyes

chocolate frosting to stick together

Step 2:

Mix the ingredients to a firm dough using a mixer or by hand, except for the licorice and dried fruit

Step 3:

Using a 1 tbsp. size cookie dough scoop out dough and form into round balls.

Head: using the same scoop, separate the dough into two pieces. Roll to form a ball.

Step 4:

Place 2 pieces of dried fruit into the "head" of the cookie before baking or after when the cookie is still hot.

Step 5:

While the cookie is still hot, place 4 "legs" into the larger "body" of the insect.

Step 6: Attaching

Use a dab of frosting to stick the head to the torso.
