Introduction: CrimeWatch

CrimeWatch is a wearable I designed to detect any close movement which ultimately triggers the PIR sensor to send a signal to the servo motor to alert the wearer of potential unauthorized physical contact. In addition, if the movement gets even closer, the LED attached to the photon starts to rapidly blink to warn the wearer of imminent danger.

Step 1: The Basic Components

The Breadboard contains three major hardware components

1. The PIR sensor

2. The LED

3. The Servo Motor

Step 2: The PIR Sensor

The PIR sensor is designed to detect any close movement. It can be placed in a pocket or attached to a belt. The objective here is that if a person is potentially in close proximity to the wearer in an unauthorized way, the sensor detects it.

Step 3: Notification 1

This in turn sends a signal to the servo motor which begins to rotate from 0 to 360 and back.

Step 4: Notification 2

Finally, if the movement gets even closer, the LED starts to rapidly blink to alert the user that a perpetrator is very close (to the point of even being pickpocketed).
