You will need aruba sea red heart super saver, plum red heart super saver and a yarn needle and a 5.5 crochet hook

Step 1: The Hat

Round 1, make a magic circle ch 2, and do 11 dc and join st

Round 2, ch 2, 2 dc in each st and join st

Round 3, ch 2, 2 dc tog, 1 dc,2 dc together, repeat join st

Round 4, ch 2, 2 dc tog, 1 dc in the next two st, 2 dc tog repeat join st

Round 5, ch 2, 2 dc tog, 1 dc in the next 10 st, 2dc tog repeat join st

Round 6, ch 2, 2 dc tog, 1 dc in the next 11 st, 2 dc tog repeat join st

Round 7, ch 2, 2 dc tog, 1 dc in the next 12 st, 2 dc tog repeat join st

Round 8,ch 2, 2 dc tog, 1 dc in the next 13 st, 2 dc tog repeat join st

Round 9, ch 2, 2 dc tog, 1 dc in the next 14 st, 2 dc tog repeat join st

Round 10-19 ch 2, 1 dc in each stitch around and join st

cut off yarn and tuck in ends

Step 2: Ear Flaps

Row 1, once you've decided where you want your ear flaps sl st, ch 2 and put 1 hdc in the next 14 st

Row 2, ch 2, 1 hdc in the next 14 st

Row 3, ch 2, 1 hdc dec, 10 hdc, 1 hdc (12st)

Row 4, ch 2, 1 hdc dec, 8 hdc, 1 hdc dec (10st)

Row 5, ch 2, 1 hdc dec, 6 hdc, 1 hdc dec (8st)

Row 6, ch 2, 1 hdc dec, 4 hdc, 1 hdc dec (6st)

Row 7, ch 2, 1 hdc dec, 2 hdc, 1 hdc dec (4st)

Row 8, ch 2, 2 hdc dec (2st)

Row 9 ch 2, 1 hdc dec

Cut off yarn and tuck in ends and repeat on the other side

Step 3: The Rose

switch to 5 mm crochet hook

CH 56

in the 3rd chain from the hook do 1 hdc, 3 dc, 1 hdc skip 1 chain then pet 1 sc skip 1 chain then do 1 hdc, 3 dc, 1 hdc repeat till the end then cut off yarn make sure to leave a long tail to sew the flower together and sew it on the hat

Step 4: The Braid on the Ear Flaps

with the blue yarn measure out 50 inches and cut the yarn you are going to repeat this till you have 20 strands of blue yarn.

And now for the purple yarn measure out 50 inches cut the yarn you are going to repeat this till you have 20 strands of purple yarn.

You are now going to divide the blue and purple yarn you will have two piles of yarn with each pile having 10 blue and 10 purple

To connect the strands of yarn to the hat you are going loop the strands through the very last half double crochet you did and once you did that you should have a loop and you are going to pull the yarn through the loop after you do that you are now going to braid the yarn to the desire length, you are now going to do the same thing on the other side of the hat.
