Introduction: Crochet Mask and Beanie

This mask and beanie I made for a 3yr old You and of course modify it by adding stitches to the mask and to the beanie.

Step 1: First Part of Mask

-ch 23 and join in first ch to make a loop. ch 23 again and join in first ch again to make second loop. be sure not to twist.

-HDC in first ch on first loop hdc in 9ch sts, dc in next ch, ch1, dc in next ch. hdc in next 3 chs, 2hdc in next 2 chs, hdc to end.

-work your way over to the other loop, and do the same starting at the top hdc in 9 ch sts, dc in next ch, ch1, dc in next ch. hdc in next 3 chs, 2hdc in next 2 chs, hdc to end.

-again work your way over to first loop. hdc in next 10 hdc, 2 hdc in dc sp, ch 1, 2 hdc in dc sp, hdc till end.

Make two of these.

Step 2: Pipe Cleaner

Form and trim your pipe cleaners into the shape of the mask.

Step 3: Sew Together

Sew together the two mask shells with the pipe cleaner sandwiched inside. Trim and weave in all ends.

Step 4: Mask Straps

ch 5, hdc in first ch from hook hdc till end, ch1 and repeat till you get your desired length.
(if you want thicker straps ch 7-8)
Make two of these.

Step 5: Sew Straps

fold your mask in half and mark on each side where you want to place your straps, so that you can sew the straps evenly on both sides.

Sew in straps trim and weave in ends.

Step 6: Green Beanie for 3yr Old

Row 1- make a magic loop and dc 12 in loop pull tight and join with slip st. (12)
Row 2- ch 3 (counts as first dc here and throughout ) dc in same st, 2dc in each sp, join with slip stitch. (24)
Row 3- ch 3, dc in same st, *1dc, two dc in next repeat from * around. Sl st. (36)
Row 4-15 -ch 3, sc in each space around, join with slip stitch (36)


Trim and weave in ends.

Step 7: Your Done!
