Introduction: Crochet Skirt Inspired by Twice's Alcohol Free

About: I'm a 14 year old girl that loves doing crafts mostly sketching, sewing, and crocheting.

I know I'm not alone when I say that as soon I saw the music video for Alcohol Free by Twice, I knew that I had to make Momo's crocheted skirt. It may look difficult, but it's actually quite easy and fun to make! So with that said, grab your crochet hook and let's get crocheting!

Supplies

♫ 5mm crochet hook

♪ 4 skeins of Loops and Threads Impeccable Yarn in Soft Taupe you can buy it here

♫ Measuring tape

♪ Stitch Markers (You can also use bobby pins or earrings)

♫ Scissors

♪ Basic Crochet Stitch Knowledge

♫ Medium Tapestry Needle

Step 1: Abbreviations

Term - Abbreviation

Stitch - ST

Slip Knot - SLP KT

Slip Stitch - SLP ST

Chain Stitch - CH

Single Crochet -SC

Half Double Crochet - HDC

Increase -INC

Half Double Crochet Decrease -HDC2TOG

Step 2: Skirt Front

Round 1: Start by making a SLP KT and CH 9.

Round 2: Beginning in the second CH from the hook, SC in every st.

Round 3: CH 1 and INC (put two HDC in the first ST). HDC in every ST and increase in the last ST.

Round 4: HDC in every ST

Repeat Round 3 and 4 until you reach Round 28 (reference the fifth picture).

Round 29 - 89: HDC in every ST

CH 1 and tie off, leave a long tail.

Step 3: Skirt Back

Take your hip measurement with a tape measure.

Round 1: Make a SLP KT. CH until you reach 1 inch from your hip measurement

Round 2: SC in every ST starting in the second ST from the hook

Round 3: CH 1, HDC2TOG into the first ST. HDC in every ST and HDC2TOG in the very last ST.

Round 4: HDC in every ST

Repeat Round 3 and 4 until you reach Round 11.

Fold your Skirt Back in half and make sure the edges match up perfectly. Mark the middle stitch with a stitch marker.

For the best results, I strongly encourage marking the middle before every row.

Round 12 - 25: HDC in every ST until you reach the marker. INC in the marker stitch.

Round 26 - 83: HDC in every ST

CH 1 and tie off.

Step 4: Waistband

Round 1: Make a SLP KT. CH 13.

Round 2: Starting in the 2nd CH, SC in each ST.

Round 3: CH 2, SC in the back loop only.

Round 4: CH 1, SC in the back loop only.

Repeat Rounds 3 and 4 until you have a total of 14 Rounds.

Round 15 - 26: CH 1, SC in the back loop only

Round 17: CH 1, SC in the back loop only.

Round 18: CH 2, SC in the back loop only.

Repeat Rounds 17 and 18 until you have a total of 38 Rounds.

Round 39 - 74: CH 1, SC in the back loop only.

Round 74 - 85: CH 2, SC in the back loop only.

Repeat Round 39 and 74 if the waistband does not equal your hip measurement.

CH 1 and tie off, leave a long tail.

Step 5: Assembly

Find the middle of the waistband by folding it in half and marking the middle. Do the same with the Skirt Front. Step 1: Pin the middle of the Skirt Front to the middle of the Waistband.

Step 2: Pin the Skirt Back to the Waistband.

Make sure that the skirt is flipped inside out before you start sewing/SLP ST.

Step 3: SLP ST (or sew) the Waistband to the Skirt Front and Skirt Back. SLP ST the Waistband ends together in the back so it is connected. CH 1 and tie off.

Step 4: SLP ST the Skirt Front and Skirt Back until 9 1/2 inches from the Waistband. (Reference picture 5)

Repeat Step 4 on both sides of the Skirt Front.

CH 1 and tie off.

Weave in the loose ends.

Step 6: Finished!

And...you're finished! Give yourself a pat on the back. I am very happy with how it turned out and I am excited to try more Kpop inspired outfits! Thank you and see you next time!
