Round 1

I am 9 years old and learned how to crochet about a year ago. I have been making scarves and hats for friends and family. We have also been fostering dogs for over a year for a local organization called RROC (Retriever Rescue of Colorado). My dad started looking at Instructables and I saw this contest and thought it would be a fun project. Here are the steps I took to make the hat. Hope you enjoy. I do a magic ring and six single crochet inside of it and pull the ring tight.

Step 1: Round 2

2 single crochet into each stitch around. 6 times- 12 stitches

Step 2: Round 3

2 single crochet into next stitch , 1 single crochet into the next stitch. 6 times - 18 stitches.

Step 3: Round 4

1 single crochet into next stitch, 2 single crochet into the next stitch, 1 single crochet into the next stitch.6 times- 24 stitches

Step 4: Round 5

1 single crochet into each of next 3 stitches, 2 single crochet into next stitch.6 times-30 stitches.

Step 5: Round 6

2 single crochet into next stitch, 1 single crochet into each of the next 4 stitches.6 times- 36 stitches

Step 6: Round 7

1 single crochet into each of the next 2 stitches, 2 single crochet into the next stitch , 1 single crochet into each of the next 3 stitches.6 times-42 stitches

Step 7: Round 8

1 single crochet into each of next 4 stitches,2 single crochet into the next stitch, 1 single crochet into each of the next 2 stitches.6 times-48 stitches

Step 8: Round 9

1 single crochet into each of next 7 stitches, 2 single crochet into the next stitch .6 times-54 stitches

Step 9: Round 10

1 single crochet into each of the next 4 stitches, 2 single crochet into next stitch , 1 single crochet into each of the next 4 stitches.6 times - 60 stitches

Step 10: Round 11

1 single crochet into each of the next 19 stitches,2 single crochet into next stitch.3 times-63 stitches

Step 11: Round 12

1single crochet into each of the next 7 stitches ,2 single crochet into the next stitch,1 single crochet into each of the next 13 stitches .3 times - 66 stitches

Step 12: Round 13

One single crochet into each of the next 15 stitches,2 single crochet into the next stitch ,1 single crochet into each of the next 6 stitches .3 times- 69 stitches.

Step 13: Round 14

1 single crochet into each of the next 3 stitches,2 single crochet into the next stitch ,1 single crochet into each of the next 19 stitches.3 times-72 stitches. After that you go around the hat and single crochet 1 in every stitch 12 times.
