Introduction: Crock Pot Coconut Cumin Veg Pulao

Pulao is a rice dish of Middle Eastern Countries and India. It is basically rice cooked in stock and spices. It is known for its aroma.

This is a simple vegetable Pulao with exotic flavor of coconut and cumin. Cooking rice in a Crock Pot has its own advantages. You can worry less about your rice being overcooked or under cooked. Leave it to be cooked in your Crock Pot and come back for a delicious meal.

This is a simple recipe for a whole some meal for your kids.

Step 1: Ingredients

Preparation Time - 15 Minutes

Cooking Time - 2 Hours

Ingredients:

1 Cup – Rice (Basmati variety)

¾ Cup – Water

¼ Cup Coconut Milk

3 Cup – Vegetables ( Carrot, Green Beans, Green peas, Potato)

Tempering:

1 Tbsp – Butter

½ Tsp – Cumin seed

4 Cloves

2 Cinnamon Stick

1 Bay leaf

5 Whole Black Pepper

5 Green Cardamoms

Step 2: Vegetables

Grate the carrot lengthwise. Cut and keep ready the vegetables.

Step 3: Step 1

Wash the rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes.

Brush the base of the Crock Pot with oil.

Mix rice, cut vegetables, water, coconut milk and salt in the Crock Pot.

Step 4: Tempering

Heat oil in a pan and add cumin. Let the cumin crack. Add the rest of the ingredients under the

tempering list. Saute for 2 minutes. Add them into the crock pot.

Mix the tempering well with the rice.

Step 5: Cook

Cook on high for about two hours.

Note:

Each model may vary with time. So kindly check the time and the amount of water you need for your vaariety of rice.

Step 6: Serve

The Pulao is ready and the aroma is just amazing. The kids will surely love it.
