Introduction: Croquembouche Cupcake

This adorable cupcake is decorated to look like a miniature Croquembouche, the traditional French wedding cake consisting of cream puffs held together with a delicious web of caramel.

To make this cupcake, you'll need:
  • 1 Standard Size Cupcake
  • 1 Sugar Cone
  • Vanilla Frosting
  • Caramel Frosting
  • Small round candies or halved jelly beans
  • Caramel Squares
Begin by frosting the cupcake with vanilla frosting. Then frost the sugar cone with caramel frosting. Place the sugar cone on top of the cupcake and cover it with the round candies. I used halved jelly beans. Melt the caramel squares in the microwave. Using the tines of a fork, drizzle the caramel around the candy-covered cone. These make great wedding favors.

I can see this using M&M's with or without peanuts. Perfect for a child's birthday party. One for each child.

Great funny idea! my grand dad would love that, he used to make "croque en bouche" (which is new to me but so funny) or "pièce montée" (literally "stacked up pieces" made out of "choux à la crême" (cream cabbages).
    Thanks for sharing.

I totally thought that was full sized at first and wondered how it could involve a cupcake! How creative!!!
