Introduction: Cupid's Valentine Pancakes (Crêpes)
In this Instructable I will show you how to make Cupid's Pancakes for Valentine's Day or change a few ingredients and use this recipe for any special occasion! This recipe is from scratch and very easy to make. If you have any questions or comments please leave them below and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Step 1: Gather All Ingredients for the Filling
The recipe for the filling is as follows:
1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
red food coloring
Step 2: Putting the Filling Together
Beat cream cheese in mixer until smooth. Add whipping cream, vanilla and food coloring and mix until smooth and food coloring is even throughout. Gently stir in powdered sugar.
Step 3: Put Filling in Baggie
The baggie will also be used to dispense onto the pancake.
Step 4: Gather Ingredients for the Pancake Recipe
The recipe for the pancakes are as follows:
2 eggs
1 1/4 cup milk
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
Step 5: Put Together Pancake Batter
Combine all ingredients in mixer and beat mixture with whisk attachment until smooth.
Step 6: Cooking Pancakes
Put 1/4 cup batter onto hot oiled 6 inch skillet over medium heat. Swirl to coal bottom of pan. Brown slightly on one side then flip. Oil skillet between pancakes (there's nothing worse than a stuck pancake!). I make them all at once and put paper towel between so they don't stick.
Makes about 10 pancakes
Step 7: Fill Pancake
Cut corner of baggie off (1/4 inch). Lay pancake on plate. squeeze filling onto pancake in one stripe across the middle. fold pancake in half over filling then roll to form finished product.
Step 8: Finish and Enjoy!
Put finished pancakes on plate and top as desired. I used strawberries and powdered sugar on one and strawberries and chocolate on the other but the options are endless so be creative!
