Introduction: Curling/Wanding

Here are some quick and easy steps to curl your hair using a wand curling iron. There are many ways to curl your hair. It is hard to do curls and make them last. When you get the hang of it, it starts to get easier as you do it. Wanding has been around since the late 19th century. A Frenchman and beauty guru was credited for inventing the curling iron in 1890. It became popular in the 1960s. You can get a wand at Ulta Beauty, Walmart, Sally's, and more. During this instructable you will learn how to use a curling wand.

Supplies

  • Wand
  • Hair clips
  • Styling comb
  • Heat protectant (recommended)
  • Wanding glove (optional)

Step 1: Unplugged

Practice first with the wand unplugged. When you feel ready, plug it in and section the hair.

Step 2: Heat Protectant

After you section the hair and your wand is heated, you can start curling. I recommend using a heat protectant to protect the hair from the heated wand. You want to spray the heat protectant on each sectioned-out piece.

Step 3: Starting the Curling Process

Take a little piece of the hair and wrap it around the wand and wait a few seconds then let go of it. Repeat until you are done with the whole head.

Step 4: Final Result

When you are done curling and the hair cools, you would want to brush it with your fingers, and you're done. The final result should look something like the picture above.
