These cute custom birdhouse Christmas tree ornaments are a perfect homemade gift for anyone that moved into a new home or bought their first home. The birdhouses are the same (or as close to as possible) color as the actual home itself. It is a mini house of the original. A custom name and/or address makes it even more personal. These little birdhouses are great for any homeowner, even if they do not celebrate Christmas, just eliminate the last step of the project, the Christmas decor.

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Step 2: Paint the Bird House and Let Dry Completely

1. Paint the bird house to mimic the original house and let dry completely.

Step 3: Sample of Houses Used As Inspiration.

Step 4: Use Canva to Design Custom Logo, Address, Name or Any Other Design. Add Design to Birdhouse

1. Cut wax paper slightly smaller than a standard 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.

2. Tape the wax paper to the sheet of paper at the top, from edge to edge. This is necessary so the wax paper will not get caught in the printer and jam.

3. Create a free Canva account.

4. To create a design for the side of the birdhouse, follow these steps in Canva.

a. Open the Letter design template.

b. Create the design you prefer.

c. Once complete, download as png photo file.

d. Open a new Letter design template in Canva and upload the png file you just downloaded.

e. Insert the uploaded png picture file into the template.

f. Flip the png image horizontally.

g. Download again as png image file and print onto the wax paper.

h. Cut into size that will fit on the birdhouse

5. Brush a small amount of glue onto the side of the birdhouse and carefully add the wax paper design.

6. Brush the entire bird house with lacquer and let dry.
