Introduction: Customising Drinking Jar

About: Just sharing what I enjoy making.

Customise your Mason Jars with a unique label. Perfect for a gift or special event.

Step 1: Tools and Materials

  • Scissors
  • Pens
  • Pencil

Optional tools

  • Printer
  • Computer

Step 2: Create a Design

Think about whether you want your label to have words/pictures if you are going to do a large number of jars keep it simple. The jars I got had a lip were a label would go so I copied the shape. The jars I was doing was for a wedding so I put the couples initials and the date, I also intended to do a border but some of the jars do not have the border due to me forgetting.

Step 3: OPTIONAL-Design and Print

This step is optional, but if you are doing a large number of jars create your design on a computer so you can print it instead of doing 100 or more by hand. Trust me not where the hand cramp.

Step 4: Cut and Glue

Cut out your labels and glue them using a fine layer of glue to the jars. Smothe the label in place and add another layer of glue to the front of the label. Leave till completely dry.

Step 5: Gloss/Waterproof

Find a waterproof gloss, waterproofing the label will allow the jar to be washed without worrying about the label falling off. I used a clear boat gloss. Give it a fine even coat, allowing time to dry between. let them dry in a warm place free of dust.

Step 6: Drink Up

So that's how you customise your jars, now Go Enjoy.
