Introduction: Customizable K'NEX Gun

This was inspired by revtiedye's"Gunzo the Great" Knex Semi-Automatic Rubber Band Gun so give some credit to him. I have noticed while looking for a knex gun instruction that none were really what I wanted. so I made it so you can change how you want your gun to be. I've made an assault rifle, a crossbow kinda thing, and a shotgun. this is a lot of fun for kids wanting to do a rubber band war in style! The pictures in here are for my assault rifle so follow along if you want my assault rifle or I can show you how to make your own customizations! sorry if the pictures are bad. I'm using a bad phone for the camera.

Supplies

You will need a lot of Knex for this

NOTE: This is for my assault rifle. the amounts may change depending on the gun you want to build

NOTE: I give rough amounts for the purpose of making this more on the customizable side. most gun with tis style would have the same supply list.

RODS

  • A decent amount of whites
  • An absurd amount of greens
  • A 20+ blues

CONNECTORS

  • a few light greys (2-slots)
  • 4 oranges (straight 2-slots)(these are temporary)
  • 2 purples (1-slot)
  • a few reds (3-slots)
  • a few greens (4-slots)
  • an absurd amount of yellows (5-slots)
  • 8 whites (8-slots)

SPACERS

  • 2 Baby blue (half the size of a connector)

That's all! Let's build!!!

Step 1: Parts for the Mechanism of the Gun

This is the only non customizable part. this step is almost none made by me. it is the guy I mentioned above.

Pic 4-7 add 3 more segments. See pic notes

Pic 8-10: this is a modded segment that holds the rubber band. add this at the end of the barrel.

Pic 11-15: this is the same handle as before. change the segment to hold the handle where you want it.

Pic 16: i had not yet added the barrel so i did so in this picture

Some of the pictures got really messed up when i uploaded it. i fixed it best i could. Sorry.
