Introduction: Cute Faux Calligraphy!!!
Hey guys! In this cute little tutorial I will explain how to create that calligraphy that everyone has been talking about. I love to hand letter! And this was my first step. Hope you enjoy!!!
Step 1: Gather Supplies
All you need to begin is simple, pen and paper. When you get better and are more experienced you may want to buy brush pens, but since we are at the beginner stage pen and paper works amazing. I have been practicing hand letter for a few months now and I still haven’t perfected the brush pen stage, so don’t feel bad if it takes a couple try’s. You can still create beautiful masterpieces with pen and paper.
Step 2: Write Your Word in Cursive
The word I chose for this tutorial was “hey”. So as you can see in the pictures I wrote my word in regular cursive. You may want to leave a little more space between your letters than normal.
Step 3: Adding Downstrokes
Sorry for the last step I accidently put this picture in, I didn’t have a picture of they whole word without the downstrokes. Anyways, on all of your downstrokes, you simple add a line, like mine.
Step 4: Filling in Downstrokes
Now you just simply fill in the Downstrokes with your pen. It’s that easy! Look at you, Hand Lettering!
Step 5: Make It Even Cuter!
Here is just a brief list of how you can make this already cute calligraphy, even cuter!

Step 6: Practice, Practice, Practice
Some people like the saying “Practice makes perfect”, but that’s not true, no one is perfect, my saying is “practice makes progress”. Cause that’s true, the more you Practice, the more you progress. This is a picture of what I made last month, with just pencil and paper. This tutorial proves you don’t have to be an artist or have all th fancy pens and markers to make something truly beautifull! Thanks so much for reading this! I can’t wait til my next instructable. See you soon! ?
