Here I will teach you to make a simple and cute bowl from just old newspapers and easily available materials.

Step 1: Getting the Materials

List of the things needed:

Old Newspapers.
White Glue.
A pair of scissors.
A Bowl (To use as a template,of any shape you want,can be made of any hard material such as glass,plastic etc.)
Acrylic Paints and Brushes.
Clear Varnish (Optional).

Step 2: Applying the First Layer of Paper

1.Take the template bowl,and apply water to its inner surface with a brush.(Just wet the sides,dont let water collect inside the bowl)

2.Then take the old newspapers and tear them into small pieces (of about 2x2 cm).

3.Stick those newspaper pieces on the wet inner surface of the bowl.

1.When the first layer is done,spread some white glue onto the first layer with a brush.

2.Then stick more paper pieces upon the previous layer.

3.After completing the second layer,again repeat the same process for the third layer.

4.Repeat this process for about 6 layers.You can have even more layers if you wish.(More the layers,more thicker and stronger will your bowl be).

5.Make sure the thickness is even on all sides.Let the bowl dry for about 1 hour.

1.After complete drying,carefully remove the paper bowl from the template bowl.

2.With a pair of scissors,cut the upper edges of the paper bowl evenly.

Paint the paper bowl using acrylic colours and brushes in any way you like.

If you want you can paint a white base coat first,and then paint design on it after base coat is dry.

Covering with Varnish (Optional):

You can apply a layer or two of transperant varnish on the bowl with an old brush.

This increases the durability and strenght of the bowl.It also gives a beautiful glossy effect to the bowl.

Your multipurpose simple paper bowl is ready for use!

Serves best as a gift with a couple of chocolates inside.
