this is an awesome tutorial! I'm going to try it out, also thought I should add though. monster energy drink makes a can that is of similar shape that has a cap on top. I'm sure this isn't practical for everyone but I drink about one of these a day to stay awake at work (I know. awful haha) I'm gonna try using the tops of these can cause it will save me form having to cut out the middle of the paint can like you did. I thought others might benefit from this tip as well. (:
It'd be interesting if you didn't cut the leather so that they're (sort of) working goggles, but instead if you put LEDs or something similar in there.. I love the idea of using paint can tops as goggles, did you think that up yourself? Because if you did bravo :) I think I'll make some of these in the morning.. with lights in :D
Ooh the clockwork idea is great.. I just need to find enough empty spray paint cans lying around (Ive been needing to tidy my room for a few years now anyway, and there is a definite chance of fining PLENTY in here) and.. Experimentation! :D I much prefer these than the standard Gatorade lid/toilet roll card/etc. goggles I've been seeing around the internet, they look much more.. well, just aesthetically pleasing to me :) . I think I'll make industrial ones first though, as I've already got some steampunk ones that I made ages ago (another thing that I hope I'll find in my room)..

I was thinking of clear lenses with clockwork inside for the steampunk look....
