Introduction: Cyberpunk 2077 Themed LED Light
Hi!
Welcome to my Instructable on how to make a Cyberpunk 2077 themed LED light.
Hope you will find this project interesting and inspirational.
So follow the steps below if you want to make this awesome light for yourself.
List of parts needed for this project:
1. Piece of wood
2. Two LED strips - one green and one blue - single colurs
3. 12V power source for LED's
4. Wires that are suitable to connect LED strips
5. Power plug for the power source.
Step 1: Step 1: Cutting the Wood
For my project I have selected piece of mahogany and got it to the following sizes:
32.5cm long
18cm wide
3.5cm thick
Step 2: Step 2: Routing the Grove
In this step we need to route out a grove for the acrylic sheets. The acrylic sheets are 5mm in thickness, therefore the grove needs to be 1cm wide and going through the whole thickness of the board.
Step 3: Step 3: Routing the Tray
As an additional feature to the light we can create a tray for a phone, watch etc.
I have free-handed this operation with my router. First of all I have marked where I wanted the tray to go and then scorched the lines with my chisel to achieve better edge quality when routing.
Step 4: Step 4: Making a Slot for LED's
In this step we are reversing the board to what it will be the bottom of the light. We need to route out a channel to allow the LED's to fit. On one side I have made a deeper section to allow the power lead/ socket to go in.
Step 5: Step 5: Making a Hole for the Power Socket
In this quick step we need to create a hole for the power socket to fit. This is located on the side where we made a deeper tray to allow for the connector to go in.
Step 6: Step 6: Clean Up + LED Cover
At this stage we need to cut a thin piece of wood that will act as a base for the LED's and will cover the bottom tray where the LED's are going.
And that's the base build nearly completed. Before applying a protective finish we need to sand the whole base - up to grit 250, break all the sharp edges of the wood.
Step 7: Step 7:Soldering
In this step we need to cut the correct length of our LED strips and stick them on the thin piece of wood we cut out earlier. We have to solder both strips together as well as the power socket.
After all that is done we need to insert the strip of wood in the base - I have used hot glue to attach the power socket to the base and covered all the soldered parts. I have used some spacers to make sure the back plate if flush with the base, then pre-drilled some holes for screws that will hold the LED's to the base.
Step 8: Step 8: Applying the Finish
And now its time to apply the finish of your choice. I have used Danish oil and some wax.
Step 9: Step 9: Engraving the Acrylic Sheets
In this step I have engraved one of the acrylic sheets with the Cyberpunk logo and the other sheet with 2077 and the shadows. I have printed the design in a mirror view so the engraving side will be at the back when looked at the lamp.
To start with I used my dremel tool with the plunge base to go with a sharp end bit over the boarders of the letters and numbers. After that I swapped the bit to a round end and used the pen attachment for the dremel to fill the inside of letters.
Step 10: Step 10 - Enjoy the Light
And that is it for this project. You can now insert the acrylic sheets in the base and enjoy.
I have also made a step by step video of this project so if you are interested you can see it here.

How did you achieve the two colour effect. Is it dependend on the engraving depth or side of the acrylic? Or something else?

May you please send here a logo Cyberpunk 2077 just to print it? Thanx

Very interessted how you made this 'etching' in the 'plexi-glas' !
Please insert the video-link NOT in a picture!
People like me, using the Android-App for viewing 'Instructables' , can not follow this embedded link.
Make a physical "blue" video-link, we can "tapp-on",...
Thanks in advance, Markus ; db9pz
