Introduction: D4E1-DB-Penopener

I made a device that can open and close markers and pens. The device was made for someone with a physical disability who has a lot of need to open pens. When you push the red button, the pen is clamped in the device and the pen is then pulled apart. If the pull is still not enough, one can turn the large lever, which twists and pulls the pen apart.

Supplies

  • Lego Minstorm EV3
  • a lot of lego
  • special pieces: 4520872 ; 2x 4528037 ; 6x 4211510
  • bicycle tyre
  • 3D printer

Step 1: Printing

Print one of the following pieces 4 times. This depends on how big your markers are. If you have thicker markers, it is best to print the smallest piece. When 3d printing, make sure the hole in the middle can be used by a lego stick. Every 3D printer is different, so you may have to adjust this.

Step 10: Optional Rubber for Stickyness

You can simply add some robber on the bottom of the machine to add some stickyness.
