Introduction: DIN Rail Mount for Raspberry Pi Pico

Sometimes it can be useful to install your Raspberry Pico based project in a cabinet and give it a professional look. RasPiBox Pico is an enclosure set for the new Raspberry Pi Pico microcontroller board by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. The heart is an additional pcb with integrated voltage regulator and breadboard. It fits together with the Raspberry Pi Pico in a 4 module DIN rail enclosure.The kit includes a prototyping PCB with integrated 5V power supply. So you can use for example 24V DC by the cabinet to power the Pico inside the enclosure.

  • RasPiBox Pico kit
  • Solder wire

  • Soldering Iron
  • Plier, Needle Nose
  • Phillips Screwdriver
  • multi meter (optional)

Step 1: PCB Assembly

In the first step you have to assemble the PCB of the RasPiBox Pico kit. Please follow the attached assembly instruction.

Now you can add optional circuits to the breadboard area, if necessary.

Step 2: PCB Mounting

Mount the pcb in the bottom shell of the enclosure and fix it with 2 screws

Step 3: Place the Raspberry Pi Pico

now you can plug the Raspberry Pi Pico to the main PCB.

Step 4: Open the Terminal Covers

Depending on the used terminals you have to remove the terminal covers of the top shell.

These covers comes with rated break points. You can remove it with a screw driver and a nose pliers.

Step 5: Cabinet Mount

After mounting the top shell you be ready to mount the RasPiBox Pico in a cabinet.
