Introduction: DIY Block & Coin for Super Mario Costume
Hi Everyone!
Here's a last-minute DIY Halloween costume accessory for those planning to dress up as a Super Mario Bros. or other Nintendo character. With these instructions you can make an inexpensive Coin Block and Coin that can be hung above your head using a 3rd person POV mount. (I'll show how to make that mount in a future Instructable.) In the video tutorial, I show how it looks when I'm wearing the mount and my Mario hat!
If you have any questions, feel free to post them.
Step 1: Materials Needed
- Spray Paint-White, Black, Yellow $6 (Lowe's)
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Paper Clips/Hooks
- Wire/String
- Cardboard Box
- Painters Tape/Masking Tape
- 3rd Person POV mount (tutorial coming soon)
Step 2: Measure, Cut, and Tape
Make a 7" box and coin by cutting the shapes out of a cardboard box and using painter's tape to build them.
NOTE: See video for step-by-step instructions.
Step 3: Paint
Spray paint both with yellow paint and use stencils to make the "?" for the block and the rectangle for the coin.
Use hooks/paper clips and wire/string to attach the block and coin to a 3rd person POV mount.
NOTE: See video for step-by-step instructions.
