Intro: DIY CD Dragon Sculpture

There you have some instructions to make a CD dragon sculpture!
You are going to need :
- few meters of wire
- some old newspapers
- about 15 CDs
- some plastic

STEP 1: Step : 1 : Making the Skeleton

Use any wire you want make a skeleton.

STEP 2: Step : 2 : Making the Body

Take a piece of crumpled newspapers and add it to the wire. Then wrap strip of newspapers dipped in a glue around. Continue til the whole dragon is covered with newspapers. Then let it dry.

STEP 3: Step : 3 : Making and Adding Scales

Make scales from about 15 old CDs. The longer and thinner, the better because there will be less space between. Now start gluing the scales using hot glue. Begin from the bottom and continue upwards. Then add some details like eyes, horns, thorns and so on.

STEP 4: Step : 4 : Making Wings

Cup a piece of plastic and using the hot air gun bend it to "U" shape. Glue it to the wire and add scales.

STEP 5: Some Photos :

There are some photos of my dragon and the dragon I made before. Enjoy !

These look absolutely AMAZING!! TY so much for showing it :)

Can you change the position of the dragon after the cd's are on?

Just a little but no big changes.

Can you only use a glue gun? Is it possibe to use super glue or something else?

sure, if it is strong enough :)
Wicked cool!

What did you use to cut the CDs!

How many did you use?
I used (I don't know what is it called) scissors that cut metal. And the count of CDs is
approximate it depends on the size of dragon...

Nice job!

These scissors are called "tin snips". It's a weird name.

That's amazing. Great job.

I love the shine the CD gives the dragon, makes for a really sweet look! Nicely done!

Thank you. That is the power of flash on my phone.

Yes exactly, I have about 200 old CDs and don't know what to do with them. And this was the best way to use them.
Awesome. Will try to make one one day: I love dragons too -)
I would be very happy to see one day your dragon ... so please post a pics :)
Sorry, I need to read more carefully (and not just be dazzled by the images). I see you said you used ~15 old CDs.
Great job. I love the look of them.
