Introduction: DIY Coffee Sleeve

Hate holding hot coffee cups but want to do the best for the environment? Well, these DIY Coffee Sleeves are the perfect solution. Quick and easy to make and super effective against the heat, you'll never have to use a cardboard coffee sleeve again. So stay warm in the winter and do your part for the environment.

Step 1: Collect Materials and Equipment

EQUIPMENT:

1 x Fabric Scissors

1 x Needle

1 x Coffee Sleeve Pattern

MATERIALS:

2 x Coloured Felt

3 x Coloured Thread

2 x Short Ribbons

Step 2:

Collect the brown felt, fabric scissors and coffee sleeve pattern.

Place the coffee sleeve pattern on the felt and carefully cut around it using the fabric scissors.

Step 3:

Repeat Step 2 to get a second felt piece.

Step 4:

Collect the blue felt and the fabric scissors.

Cut out two even circles for the eyes using the fabric scissors.

Step 5:

Collect the blue thread and the needle.

Attach the blue felt circles to one piece of the brown felt using a running stitch.

Step 6:

Collect the back thread and the needle.

Stitch two small circles on top of the blue felt to create a pupil for the eyes.

Step 7:

Collect the pink thread and the needle.

Stitch a small nose and mouth into the brown felt underneath the eyes.

Step 8:

Collect a small rectangle of the brown felt.

Cut out two ear shapes.

Step 9:

Collect the black thread and the needle.

Place the ears onto the coffee sleeve as shown above.

Attach to the coffee sleeve using the needle and thread.

Step 10:

Collect the second brown felt piece.

Place it underneath the first piece.

Using the black thread and needle, stitch around the entirety of the coffee sleeve to attach the two pieces together.

Step 11:

Collect the two pieces of ribbon, the black thread and the needle.

Place the ribbons on either side of the coffee sleeve as shown above.

Attach using the needle and thread.

Step 12:

Wrap your new coffee sleeve around your cup, tie up the ribbon and enjoy!
