Intro: DIY Cordless Screwdriver Battery Pack

This article show you how to made diy cordless screwdriver battery pack. The old one was ni-cd that has memory effect and charge slow unlike a new one that fast charge and high output current at the same size.

STEP 1: Find a Li-ion Battery Case.

The old battery pack output voltage is 7.2 volts so I need two 18650 battery =3.7×2 = 7.4 volts (0.2 volts different is ok)

STEP 2: Second. Remove Old Battery and Attach Li-ion Battery Case to It.

A new battery is longer so you need to attach new battery case to the old one.

STEP 3: Insert 18650 Battery and Test.


The new battery is good but if you plan to use it seriously , you need to add battery protection circuit.

Now, you can store plenty 18650 battery to the screwdriver box and ready to go.
