Intro: DIY Cracked IPhone Makeover

When my white iPhone 4 cracked on not one, but both sides, I was heartbroken. I thought it turned into a piece of junk; but with this awesome hack it became a more cool and colorful piece of junk:).

Supplies:

- Cracked white iPhone 4

- Highlighters

- Clear nail polish

- Damp paper towel (to wipe of the excess highlighter ink on the phone's surface)

STEP 1: Clean Your Phone

Before using the highlighters, you want to make sure you get rid of any small shards of glass or dirt that may be stuck on the back of your phone.

STEP 2: Use the Highlighters

To create this awesome effect, draw over the surface of the cracks and try to squeeze some ink in to make it colored. When you've achieved the look you desire, let it dry for a couple of minutes and then wipe off any excess ink on your phone.

STEP 3: Finish With the Nail Polish

When you have completed the previous step, paint clear nail polish on top of the cracks to seal the colors to make sure it doesn't fade or run. Let it dry, and then you're done! Show off your awesome phone to your friends, and they'll for sure want to crack they're phone just to do this awesome hack!!

sooo doing this if my phone cracks

Amazing idea!

Or, you could just get it fixed, not very hard or expensive!!

BTW, why are people still not putting cases on these expensive devices?? Just doesn't make much sense not to...

Apple doesn't want people putting cases on iPhones, because they crack easier, which means you buy more apple products faster. Also the cases kinda look bad

??? How would they crack easier?? What kind of cheap cases are you thinking about?

I have never had a problem with my Samsung Galaxy S-series phones cracking, always with a case...

also this looks REALLY cool

I have a friend who shattered an iphone 5 by bringing it in the warm house after being out in the cold on her way home from work. She had it in a case, got in set it down, started doing other things and then heard a noise that she didn't recognize coming from her phone. It doesn't have to drop to be shattered.

That's a super cool idea! I'm going to show this to my friend who's iPad cracked.

Yeah, I agree with kirk.taylor.9659. I mean, it is cool, but still not protected. You were lucky it didn't shatter. You should put a case on that thing if you want it to last.

That is true; without a case my phone can very easily get shattered :(. To fix this issue, I put a back and front screen protector on my phone to prevent it from cracking anymore, which is what I recommend doing.
