Supplies

What you will need:

  • Colorful Yarn
  • Scissors
  • Measuring tape
  • Felt
  • Loom
  • Hook
  • Needle
  • Hole Puncher

Step 1: Wrap

Firstly, knot the yarn on the anchor peg. As a result, you will have a short tail.

Wrap the yarn around the pegs as shown in the corresponding visual.

Stop when you get to peg 9.

Wrap peg 9 and work your way back to peg 1.

Then, secure the yarn on the anchor peg.

Step 2: Hook

Secondly, starting with the last peg, slide the knitting hook along the groove.

Hook the bottom loop and pull it over the top one and the peg itself.

Release the yarn from the hook.

Step 3: Repeat

Continue to wrap and hook, back and forth, until the knitted piece is as long as 20cm.

Then remove the knot on the anchor and tie it to a nearby yarn loop on the cozy.

Step 4: Thread

Ensure you have one loop of yarn around each peg.

Then, cut the working yarn about 75cm from the loom, using scissors.

Finally, thread the yarn on the needle.

Step 5: Sew

Sew through each loop on the pegs. Pro tip. ( Do not tug on the sewing yarn tightly, you want the knitted piece to maintain its rectangular shape )

Remove the piece from the loom.

Step 6: Joining Ends

Begin by folding the rectangular piece in half.

Sew the top 2 loops together and work your way down the rows.

Then, tie the working yarn in a double knot to the cozy and sew it back down the seam to hide the tail.

Step 7: Decorating

Thread a 50cm piece of yarn on the needle.

Place the felt heart in the center of the cozy.

( Ensure that you have punched small holes on the heart for the yarn to go through. You can use a needle to poke the holes if you don’t have a hole puncher. )

Make sure to leave a few inches of the yarn hanging inside the cozy as you sew around the heart.

Finally, double knot the end of the yarn to the yarn inside the cozy.

Notice: All measurements were taken using a measuring tape, for better accuracy.
Care instructions: Hand wash, with cold water and soap. Rinse and allow it to dry on its own.
