Step 1: Step 1: Materials
To begin make a trip to your nearest hardware store and get wood glue, wood of your choice (I used 1/4 inch poplar), PVC pipe, paint of your choice,
Step 2: Start the Frame
For the first step we need to measure and cut the beginning of our frame. My frame was 8"x4". Next you need to glue the frame and clamp it for 20-30 minutes.
Step 3: Making the Attachment Point
For this next step we're going to make our attachment point for our drum. I used a 1 inch PVC pipe. I first cut it down to two feet. Next you can notch the PVC to fit your two piece join. You also need to notch the PVC all the way down to fit your stand.
Step 4: Adding the Shelves.
For this step we need to add the shelves for the sticks. I cut the shelves flush with the frame of the box. These shelves need to be at least 5/8 to accomodate the sticks.
Step 5: Adding the Bolts
Next you need to add your 5/16 bolts and nuts. The springs will fit tight to the nuts.
Step 6: Springs and Stick Holders
Next attach your #48 springs to the nuts and also cut a wood block to spec and add a 5/16 nuts where the spring hits the wood.
Step 7: Paint Your Holder and Attach to the Two Piece Joint
Next you glue the joints together from the holder and the attachment. Finally you paint.
