Hi All,

This is my first instructable. It is a super easy flower which makes a great hair accessory or a brooch. You can also attach to a bag to add a dash of colour to it.

Materials required:

Any 2 colours of craft foam sheets

Strong adhesve/Hot glue

Scissors

Felt scraps

Paper to print or make your templates

Marker

Hairband/Hair pin/Brooch pin

Step 1: Templates

Step 2: Trace the Templates and Cut the Petals

Trace out the templates on the foam sheets. I have traced out petal A and C on purple foam whereas petals B and D have been traced on pink foam. You need 9 petals of each Size. i.e a total of 32 petals. Cut the petals.

Step 3: Making the Petals

Place petal B over A and then glue it. Similarly place petal D over C and glue it. Repeat for the rest.

Step 4: Arranging the First Layer of Petals

Cut a felt circle measuring abut 3.5 cm in diameter. Start gluing the bigger petals on the felt circle next to each other. Repeat until all 9 petals have been glued.

Step 5: Arranging the Second Layer of Petals

Cut a foam piece about 2 cm in diameter and glue it on top of the bigger petals in the centre. This will serve as a base for the smaller petals. Now glue the smaller petals on the foam circle. The petals have to be placed in such a way that they are between 2 bigger petals.

Step 6: Making the Centre of the Flower

To make the centre of the flower, cut one strip each of the foam colours. The strip measures about 0.5 cm in height and the width is the entire sheet of the foam. Place one strip over the other as shown and start rolling it to make a circle. Cut the excess and glue the ends. Glue it in the centre of the flower.
The flower is ready. Just glue it to a hairband for a beautiful hair accessory. You can also experiment with the centre. You can rhinestones or pearls for a different look.
