The hologram effect reconstructs image on a tilted surface facing the screen projecting the image. Thus giving us a holographic effect.

Supplies

Things required for the project -
> Cardboard
>Glue gun
>Black spray paint or acrylic
>CD covers
>Resin and Hardener( Epoxy Art recommended)
>Marker
>Pen
>Paper cutter
>Ruler
>A device for projecting the image (any smart phone would do)

Step 1: PREPARING THE MOULD

First clean the CD covers in order to make the mold dust free. Then cut the CD covers into the provided dimensions and make 4 similar pieces. Next tape all the four pieces as shown in the picture. Now, carefully place the mould on a plastic base and glue the edges and sides with the help of a glue gun. Make sure that the mould is leak free. The mould should look similar to that in the picture.

Step 2: PREPARING THE RESIN MIXTURE

Now in a measuring cup mix the the resin and the hardener in a 3:1 ratio respectively. Make sure to stir the mixture with a wooden stick or an ice cream stick. Next gently pour the mixture in the previously made mould.
Then keep the mould in a dust-free place undisturbed for 42hrs in order to let the mixture to set and harden.

Step 3: PREPARING THE SET-UP

After 42hrs take out the hardened resin from the mould. It should look some what similar to that in the picture. Now prepare a cardboard set-up according to the dimensions of the device used to project the video. Use spray paint or acrylic paint to blacken the cardboard. Doing this the extra light from the surrounding will get absorbed by the cardboard set up providing us with a much clearer hologram. (Reference for the set-up has been provided in the picture.

Step 4: FINISHING

At last place the device in the cardboard setup. Place the resin at the center of the screen of the device to get a clear hologram. Now play a hologram video in a dark room. You can easily get a hologram video in YouTube. Here are some suggested links :
