Intro: DIY Kool- Aid Mix

Why buy that super expensive kool aid mix when you can make your own?

STEP 1: Choose Your Flavors

Choose 2 (or more) jello flavors to create your own unique taste. I choose strawberry and cherry.

STEP 2:

You will also need white sugar. In this recipe, you will create a ratio using 3 parts Jello powder, and 1 part white sugar.

STEP 3:

Mix your sugar and Jello powder together. Remember to use the 1 to 3 ratio! Mine looked like this.

STEP 4:

Poor your mixture into containers. I poured mine into a large container, and a small one that I can take with me to work. For a 16 oz bottle of water, you will need 2 1/2 tablespoons of the dry mixture.

STEP 5:

Add your measured mixture to the water, shake (or stir) well, and enjoy!

I made this in my 32oz hydro flask so I doubled the 16oz recipe
it tasted very diluted so I added 2 more tablespoons of the mixture
it tasted very nice but also grainy
I recommend using hot or warm water so it disolvs faster
Yes it is but this is a recipe you split up into smaller batches so it’s about the same price per serving!
Water is a universal solvent. Adding more water than the jello recipe asks doesn’t allow the jello to set up because the water molecules get in between the gelatin molecules and that doesn’t let it get firm and giggly!

Won't this jell in the fridge or even when it gets cold?

Why doesn't this get firm in the refrigerator like regular Jell-O ? So I guess I should ask if it does , because I haven't tried it yet. Thanks !

Jello is more expensive than Kool-aid...

"poor your mixture into container" ...I think you mean POUR, the poor you have is about poverty, poor people, poor choice of words etc etc ..

This does offer many more options for flavoring than kool aid though. Also don't forget to use a 1 to 3 ratio!! :p
