Step 2: Trace & Cut

Use a ruler or any straight-edged object to draw out the triangle neckline that you want. Then, cut the triangle out. Be sure to carefully cut around the neckline/collar because that part will still need to be in tact.

Step 3: Measure & Glue (or Sew) Lining

Take the roll of binding/lining tape and measure out how much you will need. Then cut the tape, position the fabric from the shirt neatly in the middle of the tape's fold, and glue both sides onto the shirt. You can also use a needle and thread or sewing machine to attach the lining to the shirt!

Step 4: Position Eyelets

Decide how many eyelets you'd like to use and position them evenly spaced along the binding. Then, take a pen or pencil and mark the center of each eyelet so you know where you will be cutting your holes.

Step 5: Cut Small Holes/Slits for Eyelets

Fold the binding at the point where you drew the mark from the eyelets, and cut small slits/holes. Start very, very small and see if your eyelet will fit through the bottom. You can always go back and cut a little more, if needed.

Step 6: Attach Eyelets

Take one part of your eyelet and insert it through the bottom of the small hole you just cut. Then take the top part of the eyelet and fit it on top. Next, place the bottom of the eyelet toolkit underneath the bottom of the eyelet. Then, place the top part of the toolkit on top of everything and gently hammer the two pieces together until secure. Continue until all eyelets have been attached.

Step 7: Lace Up

Measure out how much of the faux suede cord you'll need then starting from the bottom, zig-zag lace the cord through each eyelet.

Step 8: All Done!

There you have it! Your very own trendy, lace-up top that's your own creation! I hope you enjoyed this project. Let me know if you decided to try it out and connect with me on social media to stay updated on my latest projects and videos! :)
