I was working on some projects and needed a few more Male to Female Jumper Cables, like right away!

I had some 22awg Solid-Core Wire lying around and thought it would be cool to make some until I could buy more colorful cables.

Step 1: Tools Needed

I used a wire stripper, wire cutters, pliers, shrink wrap, and a lighter.

Step 2: Making the Female Side

I took a straight pin and wrapped the solid core wire around it about eight times to get the depth that I needed. Then used pliers to cut the excess wire.

After you finish with the female end, cut the wire to the desired length and trim the wire casing off of the end.

Now you have a Female to Male jumper wire!

*Keep in mind that these wires are solid core and may be to ridged for the project you are working with. Personally, I find that the solid core wires are useful and stay in the position you put them in.

Step 3: Shrink Wrap

I placed the shrink wrap around the wire and heated it with a lighter to shrink. Be careful not to over heat the wire.

Step 4: Moment of Truth

Fits like a glove.

Step 5: Connect and Test

All wires connected to the NeoPixel Ring and all works great.

Hoped you enjoyed!
