Aren't these adorable? They are made out of tissue boxes, tissue paper, and a green sponge. Lots of recycling going on! These can be made in several colors and are great for boys or girls. I made these for my 9 year old sister and she loves them. These were very easy to make and only took a few hours (most of which was drying time). I hope everyone enjoys this instructable!

Step 1: Inspiration

Last week I found a really cute picture of shoes similar to this online. I thought that they were really cute but it was just a picture with no instructions, description or links. From the picture that I saw, I could tell that the shoes had tissue paper on the outside and little sponges for claws. Today I tried to recreate what I saw and I think they turned out pretty well!

Step 2: Materials

Materials:
Green, blue and yellow tissue paper
2 empty tissue boxes
Green Sponge
Knife
Mod Podge
Hot glue gun

Step 3: Paper Mache

Tear all of the tissue paper into little pieces. Next, paint a layer of mod podge all over the tissue box. Stick the pieces of tissue paper al over the tissue box so that it is covered. To finish, paint a layer of mod podge all over the tissue box. Do this to both boxes and let dry for at least an hour.

Step 4: Claws!

Plug in your hot glue gun to heat it up. Cut the sponge to make 8 little triangles. Put hot glue on the bottom front section of the tissue box. Stick as many triangles of sponge in a row as you can. I was only able to stick on three but depending on the size of the triangles, you can easily stick on 4. Make sure to be generous with the glue or it the sponge won't stick. I hope your child enjoys these DIY Monster Shoes!
