Introduction: DIY No-Sew Doggie Cape
No sewing machine? No sewing skills? No worries! Make this simple No-Sew Doggie Cape to keep your fur baby warm!
Step 1: Cut Out Semi-circle
You'll need:
- Fabric that won't unravel at edges (felt works great!)
- Felt in another color for extra designs
- Velcro Dots
- Heat n Bond iron on adhesive
Start by cutting out a semi-circle. Measure your dog from nape to back. My dogs measurements were about 9 inches long. I cut the sides a little shorter- about 7 1/2 inches long. Don't forget to cut a smaller semi-circle for the neck.
Step 2: Cut Designs
Draw out your designs or appliques that you'd like to add to the cape. Cut the designs out and bond them to the cape with the Heat N Bond iron on material.
Step 3: Cut Strip of Fabric & Add Velcro Dots
Once you've added the appliques to the cape, cut the strip of fabric that will hold the cape together. I measured on my dog and cut my strip to about 5 inches long. Add your velcro dots to the back of the strip.
Step 4: Add Velcro to Cape
Add the corresponding velcro dots to the cape in the same locations as the strip dots.
Step 5: Stick to the Cape!
Stick the connector fabric to the cape and done! Easy to put on and take off.

Hello! I'm not sure, all I know is that she is a Chihuahua mix. I adopted her as a puppy.
Thanks!
