Introduction: DIY Perspex LED Desk Lamp
Step 1: MATERIALS
you will need
1. perspex glass
2. stencil
3.LEDs 5 volt
4. wood for base
5. USB cord
6. glue gun
7. something to scrape with.
Step 2: STICK STENCIL ON ACRYLIC GLASS
stick stencil on Plexiglas with some clear tape so it doesn't move around.
Step 3: SCRAPE LOGO ON PLEXIGLAS
find something to scrape with. something sharp (be careful). best to use minidrill it's effortless. :) and carefully scrape shapes of your logo or word or symbol.
Step 4: MAKE LAMPS BASE
cut desirable shape for base of your lamp and cut it out as shown.
Step 5: GLUE TWO SIDES OF YOUR BASE
using hot glue, stick two pieces of wood as shown in pictures and leave a gap for leds.
Step 6: GLUE LEDs. :)
cut the right length of Leds and using glue gun stick leds face down onto a gap between a wooden pieces so they shine on acrylic glass (as shown).
Step 7: CONNECT USB CABLE
using electrical tape connect USB to leds and plug it into your computer or any other USB port. :) an awesome lamp is done.

What if I replace the USB cable with some AAA batteries....
I think that would be much convienient since not everywhere you have USB port :D

How Dose it works With 5 Volts From The USB

these are particularly 5 volt leds. you can find them on eBay. you could use common 12 volt DC leds, but it wouldn't be powered by USB.
