Introduction: DIY Plywood Desk

Hi everyone,

This is the project that I designed recently. I designed a minimalist desk for my laptop and studies. A few months ago I was bored, and I also wanted a desk for my laptop and studies, so I thought that I should make my desk. So I searched on Google for ideas, and then I thought that I should make a minimalist desk and this is the final product.

Supplies

(2x) 6ft x 3ft Ply Board

(5x) 15.7" x 118" Self adhesive White Decorating Paper

Nails

50ft wooden sticks

(4x) Handles

Wood Glue

(2x) Hydraulic Hinges

Sand Paper

Tools:

Drill

Hammer

Jig Saw

Circular Saw

Hand Files

Tape Measure

Chisel

Step 1: Measuring and Cutting

In case you guys don't know How to use Circular Saw

Part A (Top) - Measure and cut plyboard using a circular saw in dimension [(4ft length) x (1ft 8inch breadth)].

Part B (Left and Right Sides both outer and inner) - Measure and cut using circular saw [(2ft 6inch height) x (1ft 7inch breadth-In front we will leave top 1 inch outside)].

Part C (Chamber for door and drawer) - Measure and cut using circular saw [(10.6-inch breadth x 1ft 7inch length (x4) 2 will divide drawer and door and other 2 will make a closed box for doors)].

Part D (Drawer) - Measure and cut using a circular saw[(10.5inch for front and back of drawer {there are 2 drawers} 16inch for the sides of a drawer, 5inch height).

Part E (Doors)- Measure and cut using a circular saw[(10.5-inch Breadth and 21.6 Height x2)].

Part F (Keyboard slider) - Measure and cut using a circular saw[(length 23.6inch and breadth 17.9inch).

Step 2: Joining the Parts

First, take 2 Part B and 2 Part C and put one part C between two part B at 5 inches from the top(use nails and glue to join these) and put another part C at 1nch from the below and repeat it with another 2 Part B and C(you will get a box for drawer and door).

Second, join the upper two parts with Part A using nails and glue.

Third, let's make the drawer join the front and back part of the drawer with side parts of the drawer using nails and glue.

Now use a drill to make two half holes for the handles at drawers and doors.

Drill half holes for hydraulic hinges and use screws to join the hinges and handles.

Let all the parts stay still for few hours and let's move to the next step.

Step 3: Completing the Rest!

Now use White designed Mica sheet or Wooden Design Paper to cover all the parts of our desk(Use wooden glue for Mica and Use glue for Paper).

Cover the visible plyboard with wooden sticks and polish it.

As for the Keyboard Slider use drill two holes for the slider and fix it with the Keyboard slider.

NOW OUR DIY PLYBOARD DESK IS COMPLETE!
