Introduction: DIY Recycled Gift Tags

Add some flair to your gifts with this cute recycled gift tag

Step 1: Supplies

Here are the supplies you will need

Old paper grocery bag

Old book paper - I used an old dictionary I found at a thrift store for $0.09.

or

Paint Sample - if you feel uncomfortable tearing apart books for this project then you can use something else for your accent. I also made this using a paint chip sample. You can pick these up at your local hardware store for free!

Glue

Hole punch

String

Step 2: Cut Out Your Shape

Start by finding an unfolded, unmarked area of your paper bag. Start by cutting out a square of paper thats about 2" by 4". Then cut the corners of one side of the square to make your tag shape.

Step 3: Add the Design Detail

Now use the dictionary paper or the paint sample to add your detail design. I used one of the tags for a wedding gift so I cut out hearts from the dictionary paper and glued them onto the tag. For the paint chip tag I created stripes to add a bit of color and flair.

You can also use some of the detail paper to add a circle to the top of the tag where you will punch out the hole. Then you will have a little extra flair there too.

Step 4: Add the String

When you are happy with your design its time to add the finishing touches. That includes using a hole punch to punch a hole at the top of the tag. Then add a string that will help you attach the tag to the present.

These tags will give your next present a nice personal flair.
