Introduction: DIY Sandwich Bag Christmas Wreath

This instructable will guide you through the process of making your very own Christmas wreath for the holiday season! Not only can this be a great decor for your house, but can also be used as an easy yet meaningful gift! In addition, this project is kid-friendly, allowing you to enjoy this project with your kids! Enjoy and have fun!

Step 1: Gather Your Materials

For this project, you will need the following materials.

  • 1 wire hanger
  • 1 box of sandwich fold top bags (We used between 100-125 bags for our project)

Step 2: Making the Circle

Taking the wire hanger, bend it into a circle as best as you can. This will be the base of your wreath, and allows you to easily hang the wreath when completed!

Step 3: Adding the Sandwich Bags

Grabbing a single sandwich bag, tighten the bag into a straight line, so it is squeezed as much as possible. With one hand holding one end of the bag along with the other hand doing the same thing on the other end, hold the bag underneath the wire, the middle of the bag right behind the hanger.

Step 4: Tying the Knot

Once you have it correctly placed, cross the two ends around the hanger, so to make an X in the air. Complete the knot and tie the bag in a simple overhand knot, such as when you are tying your shoe.

Step 5: Continuing the Process

After you attach your first bag, grab another sandwich bag and repeat the process. Make sure to place the bags as close to each other as possible.

Step 6: "Fluffing" It Up!

Once the wire is completely covered in bags apart from the hook, start going through each bag and pull the ends. This will help so that the wreath appears more full.

Step 7: Adding Decor

Using a bow of your choice, simply attach it to the wreath! This part of the project is totally up to you - whether you'd like to make a bow or just buy one from a store! If you are feeling even more creative, you can also add ornaments to your new wreath.

Step 8: The Final Result

And voila! You have a beautiful, white wreath that costed little to no money! Enjoy!
