Introduction: DIY Serving Towers

About: Designer of things, Maker of weirdness and Baker of the macabre.

Weddings are all about presentation. The flowers, the dress, the food. It all needs to be special and on point. Today I'm going to show you how to make these beautiful serving towers for your special day, in just 3 simple steps! Not only are these towers shabby chic, elegant and super easy to make, they are also super inexpensive! Let's save some money for the honeymoon shall we??? Let's get started!

Step 1: You Will Need

All you need for this project are:

  • Glass candle holders
  • Plates
  • E-6000 glue
  • Tea Cup (optional)

The glue can be purchased at any home improvement store, or even Walmart.

The holders and plates, can be purchased new or used, matching or miss-match.

I personally used a mix of my own, and thrift store finds. I spent less then 5 dollars each on these towers.

  • Note

To make these extra special, they could be made with miss-match china from family members from both sides. A symbolic union if you will.

Step 2: Start Stacking!

Try a few different arrangements, playing with sizes and looks, before you start to glue.

Once you like your tower, start gluing and stacking each piece, starting with the larger pieces on the bottom, working your way up. I chose three tier, but you could possibly go higher if the sizes allowed.

Be liberal with the glue, but don't let it spill out.

Dry overnight.

This glue is SO strong! You'll be amazed how well it holds!

If you want to try something whimsical, try adding a teacup to the top!

Step 3: Start Serving!

These trays have been a huge hit in my family! They've been used at weddings, showers and lots of parties. They are not only beautiful, but special, because they were handmade with love. And what is a wedding, if not all about the LOVE.

Live life loving each-other, and the journey will be beautiful.
