Introduction: DIY Super Pot for Rocket Stoves

Look around the internet and you'll see rocket stove after rocket stove that has neglected to include a pot skirt to achieve that efficiency that made rocket stoves famous. Luckily the bright folks at StoveTec came up with a solution. It's a double walled pot that sits on a rocket stoves and increases heat transfer. This Instructable will show you how to make your own with scrap materials. Not only will it make your stove more efficient but it will also keeps your hands cleaner as only the inner wall becomes charred.

Step 1: You Will Need...
Materials:
-Two thin walled cooking pots, one with a smaller diameter and height than the other
-Grease or lard to cool drilling
-Masking tape
-Marker or pencil
Tools:
-Angle Grinder, Dremel with cut off wheel or a hack saw for the particularly hearty characters
-Drill
-Drill bits capable of drilling metal, smaller size
-Drill bits capable of drilling metal, larger size at least 1/2"
-Sand paper
-Screw driver for marking
-Pliers, channel locks or vice grips
-Ruler
-PPE: Gloves, eye and hearing protection
-Vice or clamp

Great Idea. I'll make one for my scout group. I'll mod your design slightly and just cut out the required size pan hole in the bottom of the pan and skip all that tab bending. If required I'll cut the top off it to get it the right height. Thanks for the idea.

What a great use for it... I've always thought that rocket stoves could work well for scouting. We used the pot recently on our rocket stove chuckwagon and it worked splendidly.
