Introduction: DIY Sweatshirt
This is a tutorial on how to make a sweatshirt like this!!
Step 1:
Before you start cutting your fabric, you want to take measurements of your shoulder opening, torso (collarbone to waist), shoulder width, arm circumference, and arm length.
Pro tip: When cutting your fabric, leave a few inches so you have room to hem your edges.
Step 2:
While this isn't totally necessary, I would recommend making a paper outline of your design before you cut your fabric.
Step 3:
Lay your paper outlines on your fabric.
Step 4:
Trace the papers onto the fabric in brightly colored chalk. Trace each stencil twice.
Step 5:
Cut out the outlined fabric.
Step 6:
Take one torso outline and two sleeve outlines. Sew them together. Do this with the other set of torso and sleeve outlines.
Step 7: (Optional, But Recommended)
Hem the bottom of the shirt outline. Do this by folding the edge of the fabric up and sewing it into place.
Step 8:
Pin the two pieces of stitched fabric on top of each other. Try to make the pieces as even as possible.
Step 9:
Sew the stitched pieces together.
Step 10:
Turn the sweatshirt inside out and it is ready to wear.
