Intro: DIY Vertical Photos Tripod

I allways wanted to take pictures of my stuff just like in the movies, with a vertical tripod. This is a very simple DIY project that can be acomplished with other materials, but I used what I had available from an older project.

STEP 1: Materials

Work table (with separation)
Acrylic
Sony Cybershot DSC-P200
Four screws/nuts
BOSCH Cordless Drill/Driver
5mm Drill

STEP 2: Draw & Drill

First of all, draw the lens shape and the opening for flash. Then start drilling the hole!

In adiction I've placed four screws just to keep the camera steady.

STEP 3: The Result

Then I adjust the work table to the size of the acrylic, place the objects in the floor or in the table supports and start taking photos.

Excellent idea. I have just found a use for an old digital camera I have had hanging around & another possible adaptation for you idea incorporating the cupboards above my packet handkerchief sized bench.

Wait...so you created a bracket to set a camera on so you can take pictures directly below the camera, but an adjustable table-vice is required and the objects to be photographed must be placed under the table? If I may elaborate on killerjackalope's suggestion of building a base - instead of building a base, why not extend the acrylic sheet length-wise, tap another hole, and attach it to a tripod? Although the camera would not be directly over the center of gravity of the tripod, the model of camera used in this instructable wouldn't have enough weight to topple a tripod. The additional benefit of a tripod is portability. You're not confined to taking pictures where your work table is. From there, you could easily adapt the bracket for use on a long pole to take pictures from higher up, but this would require a camera remote or use of the camera's built-in picture timer function.

bah marlboro lights! those should be the reds way nicer in IMO nice trick though but instead of using the workmate table try buildin a base to hold the acrylice then having the legs set out far enough that on the widest angle they're just out of view, alloing for optimum photo-age....
