Introduction: DIY Your Own Children's Picture Book
Hello everyone,
Today I am going to show you how to construct your own book! I am currently working on creating a children's book and thought what would it be like if I made the actual book for my children's book. So I will be showing you just how easy making a book can be with a few easy steps. You can use this book for anything you choose. The skies the limit with what you choose to put into it!
Step 1: Step 1: Collect Supplies
For this project you will need the following items:
- A ruler
- A pencil or pen
- A pair of scissors
- One Elmer's Craft Bond
- 10 sheets of copy paper
- 2 pieces of thick paperstock
I used Summer Stock as my thick paperstock but you don't have too. Just make sure to choose a type of paper that is thicker than copy paper.
Step 2: Step 2: Measurements
In this step we will need:
- A ruler
- A pencil
- A pair of scissors
- 1 pieces of thicker cardstock
Each piece of thicker cardstock must measure out to 8.5" X 11" to match the copy paper.
Measure each thicker cardstock separately. They need to 8.5" wide and 11" long. With each measurement draw a line down the piece of thicker cardstock. This will help you make an accurate cut when you are finished measuring.
Once you have two lines (one vertical and one horizontal) you can begin to cut along those lines. Repeat this step on your second piece of thicker cardstock.
Step 3: Step 3: Filling the Book
For this step you will need:
- 10 sheets of copy paper
- Elemer's Craft Bond Glue
- A pencil
Take one piece of copy paper and the Elmer's Craft Bond Glue. Place the Elmer's Craft Bond Glue tip to the very leftside of the copy paper, making a line of glue the entire left side of the page.
Place a piece of copy paper on top of the glue side of the previous copy paper. Repeat this step for all 10 pieces of copy paper.
Step 4: Step 4: Finishing the Book
For this step you will need:
- Elmer's Craft Bond Glue
- 10 sheets of glued together copy paper
- 2 pieces of 8.5" X 11" thicker cardstock
In this step, we are going to put be putting the finishing touches to our book.
Take one piece of the 8.5" X 11" thicker card stock, the glued together 10 sheets of copy paper, and the Elmer's Craft Bond Glue. Run the Elmer's Craft Bond Glue along the left hand side of the 10 sheets of copy paper. Press the 10 sheets of glued together copy paper onto the one sheet of thicker cardstock.
Once one side of the thicker cardstock is glued, begin to glue the second piece of thicker cardstock. Use the same technique; place a line of Elmer's Craft Bond Glue along the left hand side of the page and press.
Allow 15 to 20 minutes for glue to set.
Then begin to fill your box with anything you want!
