Introduction: Declutter Cable Salad

I had a lot of cable clutter behind my stereo that started to look like a spaghetti salad. I like to have my stereo and similar on the floor and decided to look for a solution without buying a rack.

I came up with a plainted box from Hema:

The advantage of this is that it is made from cloth and you can move the individual bands for the cables to fit through. So not cutting and drilling required.

Additionally, I have used a set of wire/cable clips to have the cables organised a little inside the box.

This is where I started off:

Step 1: You Need:

- A plainted box
- A piece of cloth to cover the box if the box has no lid
- Some cable clips or similar

Step 2: Start to Fit in Cables

Place the box behin your stereo and start to fit in the cables in and out so that most of the cable is inside the box. Bind each cable together witha wire or a cable clip so that you have themy tidy also inside your box.

Step 3: Finishing and Covering the Box

Make sure that the box is as close to your stereo as posible by adjusting the cables. You will have less visible cable that way. Cover the box with a lid or like I with a piece of cloth.
