Introduction: Decorative Concrete - Crumb Method
The crumb method uses pigmented crumbed concrete to create a granite-like effect.
The piece created in this video was an attempt to emulate this beautiful Santiago red granite:
Step 1: Things You Will Need
Safety:
- dust mask
- latex gloves
White portion:
- white cement
- coarse white sand
Red portion:
- white cement
- fine white sand
- red pigment
Black portion:
- white cement
- medium black sand
- black pigment

Other:
- form (dinner plate)
- water
- detergent
- disposable cups
- popsicle sticks
- sodium silicate (available from pottery supply stores)
- brush
- knife sharpening stone (or other sanding/grinding tools)
