Introduction: Delectable Jalapeno Crushed Red Pepper Cottage Cheese (Paneer)
This instructable provides a simple and detailed method to make Jalepeno Crushed Red Pepper Cottage Cheese. It is very healthy, tasty, and prepared within an hour. Perfect appetizer or snack.
Step 1: You Will Need .....
16 small cartons of milk. I used low fat, but any dairy milk will do.
4 table spoons of crushed red pepper
3 small jalepenos, cut small
20 vitamin C tablets, 500 mg
Step 2: Boil and Curdle the Milk
I boil 4 cartons of milk at a time in a microwave. You can also stovetop boil. I then add 5 vitamin C tablets for the 4 cartons, to curdle the milk. Gentle stirring helps, takes a couple of minutes to curdle.
Step 3: Strain the Cheese Out of the Whey
Use a straining cloth and strain and separate the cheese from each batch. Keep all the cheese together. Squeeze out all the whey and pour the whey into the sink.
Step 4: Combine Ingredients...
To the cottage cheese, add in the finely chopped jalepenos and the crushed red pepper flakes.
Stir in well to get a good even distribution!
Step 5: Form Up and Squeeze
Drain and squeeze out all the water, uner weight for 2 hours?
I put the cheese in a roughly rectangular block
Step 6: Cut to Size
Square of edges of block, and cut to roughly 1 inch squares. Finished piece will be approximately 0.5 inch thick.
Step 7: Enjoy
Each piece is approximately 30 calories, 2 grams protein, no added sugars. Certified good by author and daughter!
