Introduction: Delicious Lasagna Recipe!!

Lasagna

This recipe is full of flavor. It is loaded with meat and cheese. I must tell you if you are looking for a healthy recipe, this is not it lol.

Prep time: 30 minutes

Cook time: 30 to 40 minutes

Ingredients
2 lbs Lean Ground Beef

1 medium yellow onion

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

6 garlic cloves

1 28 oz crushed tomato sauce

1/2 cup water

3 tablespoons tomato paste

1 tablespoon reduced sodium soy sauce

1 tablespoon dried basil

1 1/2 tablespoon dried parsley

1 tablespoon sugar

1 1/2 teaspoon balsamic vinegar

2 teaspoons dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon thyme

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1 whole bay leaf

Cheese Filling

3 cups whole milk ricotta cheese

1 cup sour cream

1 tablespoon dried basil

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

2 eggs

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Layers

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 lb shredded mozzarella

15 Lasagna noodles (do not use the no boil noodles)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place noodles in a pan with hot water and let them soak for 30 minutes.

2. Brown ground beef in a large pt and drain. I used all ground beef but you can use 1/2 sausage and 1/2 ground beef. I also seasoned my ground beef with creole seasoning and pepper.

3. Chop up onions and garlic. I saute' the onions and garlic and then add them to ground beef.

4. Add pepper flakes.

5. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, and water.

6. Add soy sauce and balsamic vinegar.

7. Add parsley, thyme, basil, and oregano.

8. Add sugar, salt, pepper, bay leaf.

9. Bring meat mixture to a boil and let it simmer.

10. Mix Ricotta cheese, sour cream, basil, nutmeg, eggs, and Parmesan cheese for the cheese filling.

11. Grease 9 x 13 pan. Start spreading the meat sauce on the bottom and place noodles on top of the meat sauce. Spread cheese filling over the noodles.

12. Spread 1 cup of mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese over the filling. Repeat the layer of meat sauce, noodles, and cheese filling for a total of 3 layers. Finish it with the remaining meat sauce, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese.

13. Cover with foil and place in oven. Bake for 30 minutes covered and then bake uncovered for 30 to 40 minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes.

This Lasagna recipe goes well with a salad, green beans, or corn. I like to eat my lasagna with a salad.
