Introduction: Do-it-yourself Dynamometer

For the construction of the dynamometer we will need:

-2 (or more) metal tuna cans

-1 metal staple

- A sheet of paper 4 cm wide and 30 cm long (or more)

-1 elastic

-1 or 2 weighs of 102g

-1 pen

-1 ruler

- In the absence of a protruding surface 1 nail

Step 1: FIND a PROTRUDING SURFACE

look for a robust one! in fact, it must be used to support the structure of the dynamometer

Step 2: DIVIDING a SHEET IN CENTIMETERS

the sheet obtained will be inserted into the protruding surface, therefore create a hole with the diameter necessary for the entry of the surface

Step 3: INSERT THE ELASTIC INTO THE EXTENDING SURFACE

if possible use a medium-sized elastic, in fact if the latter were too small, there would be a risk of breaking once a weight was placed on it

Step 4: HOOK (BY a CLIP) THE ELASTIC TO a TUNA BOX

if done correctly we will see that the elastic will undergo a stretch.

Step 5: MAKE THE PROPORTION

therefore carry out the proportion between the elongation of the elastic with the tuna cans compared to the elongation with 1 weight of 102 g (1 newton)
